The 1st Quarter Final of the our 3rd Year in running was hosted at The Old Comrades Club in Smethwick on Saturday 12th September.

128 players turned up to participate for a 1st prize worth upto £1060 to the GUKPT or £1000 cash. The marathon tournament was eventually won by Duke Of York player Gary Renolds opting for the £1000 cash.

In the past we have been very lucky with the weather at our Quarter Finals and today was no exception basking our players with sunshine and warm temperatures.

 

The Venue was spacious with good facilities and the management, Frank and Joyce Swann with their helpful staff, provided the players with hot and cold food and kept the drinks and snacks flowing throughout the day.

 

There was a great atmosphere with many familiar faces and some new but some absent ones too due to the holiday season. This was also the 1st Main Event inviting players from our newest venue, Twin Crescents, to get a feel of what the MPL is all about. Please note that if you are a Manager and you feel your Venue may be large enough to host a Quarter Final please do tell us!
