Feedback Decisions

It is in our best interest to keep the league running as efficiently as possible in accordance with our players needs but at the same time keeping it 100% legal. The best way of doing that is by acting on feedback received from our players. We would like to thank everyone who participated in our recent feedback campaign.

Dealers

At the 2010 Grand Final we received some positive feedback from players expressing that they would be happy to pay an extra £5 to have dealers at the Quarter Finals. We asked the players what they thought:

Option 1: Yes, pay an extra £5 at each Quarter Final making the Buy-In £15 – 50%

Option 2: No, do not pay an extra £5 for dealers - 50%

Our Decision
We have decided not to introduce dealers for the Quarter Finals for the time being. Only half the venues submitted votes for this so we will be asking them to vote for this again sometime soon.

Prize-Pools

Our Yearly prize-pool currently stands at £13,000 split into 4 X Quarter Finals each worth £2000 and 1 Grand Final worth £5,000. This system seems to work just fine but recently we have had reports of players looking forward to seeing the Quarter Finals taken back to the pubs or simply lowering the Quarter Final prize-pools in favour of a larger Grand Final prize-pool.

A common question/comment we get is: "But can't we just have the £2000 Quarter Finals back in the pubs like the good old days?" No. This prize-pool would be illegal. The only way to host a Quarter Final in a pub today would be to lower the prize-pool to £100. Naturally if we did this the Grand Final prize-pool would bump up to a minimum of £12,000. We asked the players what they thought:

Option 1: £5000 Grand Final & 4 x £2000 Quarter Finals all held in Casinos - 80%

Option 2: £12,000 Grand Final (Casino) & 4 x £100 Quarter Finals held in pubs - 20%

Our Decision
We will be hosting all of this year's Quarter Finals at the Grosvenor casino, Walsall. Each will have a prizepool of £2000.

Trophies or Card Protectors

We have received some feedback requesting a branded card-protector instead of a trophies. Your votes were:

Option 1: Trophies all round - 60%

Option 2: Card Protectors all round - 30%

Option 3: Requested a choice of either (More costly at the expense of the prizepools) - 10%

Our Decision
Trophies won the day here but there is still a possibility we may introduce Card Protectors somewhere as a mark of acheivement.

Average Scores

Averages are now available on the newer leaderboards. Please note that for qualifying purposes we will only be using averages from players who have participated in 10 games or more per season, 40 games or more per year.

Moving Tables

This rule is only in effect for events held in pubs or clubs. Events held in Casinos use the Casino House Rules.Because we use a software application to balance the tables there may be a case where the same player is moved twice in a row or within a short time period. It would be unfair to ignore this so we are enforcing this rule: If you get moved to a new table you can SIT-OUT until the dealer button has passed your position if it is within 5 places of your seat when you arrive at the new table.

Event Confirmations

We are giving our qualifiers a chance at making £50 extra cash before the start of each Main Event Tournament. If you have qualified for our next Quarter Final/Grand Final simply login and confirm your attendance using the relevant form. The names will be added onto a special list that we will use to draw the lucky winner.

Terms

1. All confirmed names must be on the relevant Qualifiers List.
2. The winner drawn from the raffle must be present at the Main Event they confirmed for.

Wild Cards

Wild-Cards - Please note that ALL Wild Card Seat winners are subject to the "Games Played Rule" for both the Grand Final and Quarter Finals.

The Venue Wild Card is for the discretion of the person directly responsible for hosting and paying for the MPL events at his/her Venue, usually the Venue Manager. This person can either take the Wild Card for themselves or allocate it to a player of their choice. Please remember that Wild Card nominees are subject to the "Games Played Rule".
